This is a test plan, not a customer result. Ask us to show the flow with test details in a demo. Then repeat the test in your connection at an agreed test time.

Example: A guest wants a table for four people. You have selected the correct restaurant and booking type in easyTable.

Example flow

  1. VOCA asks easyTable for times for the date and party size requested by the guest.
  2. VOCA uses the time, duration and booking type supplied by easyTable. If the duration or type is missing, it uses your configured defaults. Check these in the test.
  3. VOCA saves the booking in the portal. Bookings that require payment or await approval are treated as pending when the response indicates this.

What to test

  1. Ask for the same time for different party sizes. Check that easyTable offers capacity for that specific party.
  2. Book, move and cancel a test booking. Check the restaurant, party size, time, duration and status in both systems.
  3. If you use prepayment or approval, show such a test case. Check that the guest gets the correct message rather than a final confirmation for a pending booking.

How to assess the result

Staff see the correct party and booking type at the correct restaurant. The easyTable status must match the message to the guest and the portal record. A cancellation must show as cancelled in easyTable.

Ask the person who uses the system to check the result. Record the date, selected service, what the assistant said and what the system shows. A successful test shows that this particular flow worked. It does not show a specific number of new customers or revenue.

Limits to know

  • Times requiring prepayment are excluded by default. If you enable them, a payment link does not prove that a booking is complete.
  • easyTable’s rules for the restaurant, party size and booking type determine the times offered. Closing easyTable’s public online booking does not automatically block VOCA; you must select that rule in the connection.

What Bim will not do here

We spell this out because it is cheaper for everyone to know up front than to find out with a guest on the phone.

  • Bookings requiring prepayment are off by default. If you want Bim to take them you switch that on yourself, with your eyes open.
  • Bim picks a booking type according to the setting, not a specific table. The floor plan stays with you.
  • If you have closed online booking for a day, Bim can respect that or ignore it depending on how you set it. The default is to respect the closure.

About this connection

Does it work for several restaurants on one account?

Yes. You choose which place the venue books against at connect time, and each venue in VOCA points at its own.

What if Bim and an online guest take the last table at the same moment?

easyTable decides. Bim only books a time that came back free for that party size, and whoever is last gets a fresh suggestion instead of a table that does not exist.

Can Bim change an existing booking?

Yes, both party size and time can be moved, and cancellation works. The guest avoids calling during the lunch rush and hoping somebody picks up.
